![]() I did not expect those little woofers to shake the room with Paula Cole's "Tiger" like that! Wow. Here is some stream of consciousness randomness:īass: HUGE. Pure Direct activated on CD player and amp to take all unnecessary things out of circuit.Īnd with that, I fed them a variety of reference CDs for initial, pre-break-in, listening impressions. (The upside-down treatment places the tweeters at the proper height in my environment, as my stands are currently a smidge too low.) Twelve gauge O2 free speaker wire connected them to a Cambridge CXA60 integrated amplifier, which is fed by a Yamaha S300 CD player connected via digital coax. I stuck little rubber feet on them, flipped them upside-down, and set them atop my the Dynaudio Excite X14s in my treated study. In any case, it causes me to expect some congestion near that frequency during playback. This can be caused by the particular MDF used or bracing strategy, but is often a design choice more than an act of cheap-ery. (For the sake of comparison, the diminutive Dynaudio Emit M10 weighs in at a portly 12lbs each.) A knuckle rap on the side of the tall cabinet is met with a resonance somewhere around 400Hz. The vinyl seems heavy and of decent quality, however one of my speakers has some minor peeling along the bottom edge (Amazon Warehouse deal flaw).Ĭonsidering their size, they seem like they should be heavier, but a quick check of the spec sheet reveals they do weigh a respectable 13lbs each. Alignment and fitment of the various components is slightly above average. ![]() This pair of speakers is typical of MiC units in the price range. Both the tweeter and woofer have been treated to some wave guide action, which should help the dispersion problems I heard in the original version. The tweeter is now held prisoner behind a metal grill, which I hope is somehow removable, because I'm not a fan of the resulting diffraction. They are also deeper and skinnier than the old version, if memory serves. That front port is part of the reason I purchased them, as I need speakers to cram into the smallish holes in that actual bookshelf without being too boomy. Elac probably could have shaved off a half inch of height by relocating their logo. The port is now on the front, which makes the boxes necessarily quite a lot taller than the old offering. These are your standard, faux black ash vinyl wrapped boxes, which is a bit disappointing, considering how cool the metallic vinyl was on the original Debut series, and how many other faux black ash vinyl wrapped boxes are out there already. Both speakers exhibit this artifact, probably due to reflections, but it is more pronounced in the B&Ws. And, the upper midrange develops an annoying, unnatural presence that is impossible to ignore. With plugs in, the now required 8" KRK sub also sounds extra boomy down in the lower cabinet. ![]() B&W DM600 S3s also sound boomy without port plugs. Dynaudio Emit M10s sound very boomy without port plugs, and putting the plugs in makes me sad, because plugs diminish much of what those speakers do so well. There it is right there.)įor my part, I am hoping they will solve a serious first world problem in my living room, where pretty nice speakers don't sound very good, due the built-in bookshelf in which they must live. (It is almost as if that phrase is found right on Elac's web page for this series. These speakers are receiving quite a lot of praise among the Mid-Fi chatteratti, where one will find the phrase "for the price" repeated as if a widely distributed talking point listlessly used ad nauseum by lazy writers. So far, I have purchased them ($150 Amazon Warehouse deal), unboxed them, looked them over, hooked them up, listened a little, and. I'll need to fully break them in and spend at least a week listening to them first. I swear this WILL eventually be a comprehensive review of Elac's new-ish Debut 2.0 B5.2 bookshelf speakers.

![]() On a recent email from them, the majority of their operations are based in Kyiv. I own several Luminar apps and was surprised to learn Skylum was founded in Ukraine. The plugin is installed when you install the standalone version. Luminar Neo (and Luminar AI) can be used stand alone and as a Lightroom plugin. However, if you really only want power line removal, why not just use Photoshop? Duplicate your background layer and just clone or content-aware remove the power line. It can be used as a plugin or standalone. Is it a Stand alone sofware or just a Plugin ? This is what exactly i want to do power line removal. I use Luminar only as a plugin to Lightroom. ![]() I've experimented with their dust spot and power line removal AI and it works well but some situations (as exepected) it doesn't do a complete job (busy backgrounds). Some of the filters I find useful (mystical). Sky replacement works well if not overdone and kept real. The presets can be nice but I usually have to dial them way back. I like the Luminar software but for specific tasks. ![]() ![]() I have Luminar Neo as well as Luminar AI. There are some free resources online and they make their introductory training available for free but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. To the right of each you should see either an Install or an Uninstall button. If you’re using Luminar’s sister HDR app, Aurora, as a Lightroom plugin, that’s how you’d do it. One set consists of new export presets that are accessible through the regular export feature (File > Export). Under that you should see entries for both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom Classic, although only the entries for apps installed on your system will be enabled. Luminar’s Lightroom plugin adds two sets of items to Lightroom. Luminar Neo is designed for all levels of photographers, from beginner to pro, to make creative image. Enter it and you will see a dialog box with the title 'Install Luminar Neo as a plugin'. Installation & Setup After downloading and launching the Luminar Neo installer, you’re given the option to install Neo as a plugin for Photoshop and Lightroom Classic (if you’re already an Adobe user). Luminar Neo can also seamlessly integrate Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Photos for macOS and Microsoft Photos as a plugin and extension to accommodate a wide variety of workflows. This Luminar Neo review is based on the latest version 1.0.6, which was released on May 12, 2022, with Mask AI, Histogram and bug fixes. The main thing I don't like about ON1 is that if you want access to the tutorials and training you have to pay for the "Plus" membership, which rubs me the wrong way. It works as a standalone application for macOS and Windows. I mainly use Capture One, but for fun I also got ON1 which is similar in some respects to Luminar and would be an alternative worth considering. I feel like it has too much emphasis on AI and quick one-button black-box fixes I decided I'd rather take the time to learn more traditional processing techniques and understand them. I bought Luminar a while back and had some of the predecessor apps from the same company (Tonality was great and I miss it!). I’d consider it to be more of a basket of shortcuts and actions that can be handy but not completely necessary. It has some interesting time-saving tools (compared to, say, Photoshop) but doesn’t really do anything innovative. I bought Luminar 4 at a huge discount a couple years ago (was mostly curious). With this guidance, they built Luminar Neo to help artists break new creative ground with an image editor that allows precise control over every aspect of the final image while providing artists a flexible toolset that can be tailored to their unique creative workflow.Just curious about Luminar Neo anny of you guys will try it ? If you do let us know if you like it or not. They designed Luminar Neo with input from working photographers, artists, and colorists. Once edited in Luminar Neo, results can be sent back to the mobile device for easy social sharing or viewing on the go. Their new companion mobile app makes it simple to add pictures captured on a mobile device to your Luminar Catalog. Take full control of the background for portrait photos by quickly replacing it with an all-new image or background. New tools make removing unwanted background elements easier than ever before. Luminar Neo automatically recognizes and removes artifacts caused by a dirty camera sensor or lens. Remove blemishes and distracting elements. Luminar Neo analyzes each image to recognize the depth of a scene and its subject which allows precise control over exposure and tone. Transform photos with new relighting options. The game's plot revolves around a man who receives a message from his though to be deceased wife telling him to come get her at this remote location located somewhere in Louisiana. However it's most certainly not for kids as some of these other reviews suggest. It's thrilling, fun and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. To start this review off, let me just say that this game is incredible. All in all, this is a very good game, and if you're looking to get shaken up a bit, I would definitely recommend this. ![]() There is quite a bit of blood, so if you get queasy around it, you may want to search for a different game. There are a few weird things I've encountered gameplaywise. Yes, there is a bit of cussing, but I don't find it to be an excessive amount. In VR, you can truly immerse yourself in the game, making it about 50 times more terrifying than before lol. I should also mention that I haven't gotten very far in the game yet, I'm pretty sure I'm still in the earlier parts of it, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Studios just have to give them the chance to shine. This is the first game in the series that I've ever played, but they did an excellent job on getting me caught up in the beginning, so I didn't have to watch any playthroughs of older games. Horror films have truly become even more creative and tell amazing stories, and I know that some of these games would give way to some really cool horror movies that we would all love. Honestly, there really should be because it would be fantastic. While there did seem to be an adaptation in the works a long time ago (according to Electronic Arts reps at Comic-Con, via Giant Freakin’ Robot ) there has not been any news of an update for this movie in nearly a decade. With its interesting storytelling, brilliant combat and super scary freaking aliens, Dead Space would be a hit. Literally one of the best known horror films of all time is Alien. When he gets there, he finds everyone on the ship dead - and he'll be next if he doesn’t beat the alien that is hunting him down. This science-fiction horror game tells the story of an engineer who goes on a mission to repair a mining ship in deep-space that suddenly turns off after it finds a weird artifact on another planet. (Image credit: Electronic Arts) Dead Space But, it would take some time to get that story just right. This game truly does get scary, especially with how these monsters react to killings and there being other types of weapons, and you start to genuinely care for the characters, which is why I believe it would be perfect for a horror film. That would be incredibly hard to do in a movie, which is why I was thinking it could either be one storyline that most game players have gotten, or (and I prefer this option) the people could pull a Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and make it a “choose your own ending” movie. The thing with Until Dawn is that it’s a decision-based game, which means you’re given a series of questions and you have to answer them, and with that answer, it will affect the outcome of the game. ![]() In the end, it turns out to be Wendigos, evil creatures, and one of them happens to be a former friend of theirs - someone who died in a blizzard. In Until Dawn, a group of teenagers are up at a cabin that ends up with them, at first, getting hunted down by a supposed serial killer. Okay, so this would be really hard to do, but I believe that it’s possible. (Image credit: Sony Computer Entertainment) Until Dawn While this game has actually been adapted into a board game, it’s time for a movie. There’s really not much you can do to revitalize the slasher genre except make things bloodier.īut, what really makes Dead by Daylight such an interesting game is that the killer is picked at random, so maybe they could somehow incorporate that into the movie. Have we seen this before in horror? Of course we have. This is what a Dead by Daylight film could be - just four kids trying to survive a murderous killer. ![]() Literally think of any classic slasher horror film you can, like the Friday the 13th franchise or the Halloween franchise. Dead By Daylight takes five players and makes one of them the killer, and the other four have to try and somehow outsmart the killer in order to survive the night and not be killed, with them playing in the third-person. While it is true that all of these problems can have much more serious sources, it is important to note that even some seemingly dire issues - such as having no picture at all - might be a simple matter of the cable. After all, it's important to know if your problem is even relatable to the cables before you start checking them more thoroughly. Familiarizing yourself with some of the common problems caused by HDMI cables will help you when it's time to troubleshoot. Common ProblemsĪlthough HDMI cables are capable of providing your home theater or your outdoor cinema set-up with some pretty flawless picture and sound, they are not without their own troubles. In this post we're going to teach you how to tell if your problem lies with one of your cables, or if it's truly time to panic. More often than not, a bad HDMI cable is the culprit. But more often than not, sudden technical difficulties can be traced down to something more simpler, something infinitely easier to deal with than a stereo or projector breakdown. We moan about the expense it will cost to replace those valuable electronics. When the picture falters, we curse the skies and start smacking the side of the console. When the sound starts to act funny, we blame the receiver and the stereo. Can smelling something burning be a sign of a medical condition? ![]() The often-minimalist look of the show was largely influenced by the 1940s Superman Theatrical Cartoons, with character designs resembling those of Jack Kirby, Chester Gould, and Alex Toth. It drew heavily from the Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams era in the 70s and the live- action films directed by Tim Burton (although some of the latter's baggage, such as the mutated version of the Penguin, caused them some problems). This retool streamlined the character designs to better match those of Superman: The Animated Series (which it aired alongside as The New Batman/Superman Adventures), allowing for the inevitable Bat Family Crossovers.Īs the title suggests, the series is an animated adaptation of the adventures of the popular comic book character Batman. A more noticeable retool occurred in 1997, where a Channel Hop and an uncancellation order led to The WB's The New Batman Adventures (also known as Batman: Gotham Knights). Towards the end, it was given a minor Retool into The Adventures of Batman & Robin, which promoted the latter hero from recurring role to regular star. ![]() You can also watch the official documentary for the series HERE.Batman: The Animated Series (or Batman: TAS), which originally aired on the Fox Kids block from 1992 to 1995, is one of the most popular and groundbreaking series in Western Animation. Timm and Radomski reportedly encountered resistance from studio executives, but the success of Burton's first film allowed the embryonic series to survive long enough to produce a pilot episode, "On Leather Wings", which, according to Timm, "got a lot of people off our backs". It depicts outright physical violence against antagonists, including realistic firearms. The series is more adult-oriented than many of the previous superhero cartoons, while still being considered kid-friendly appropriate for younger audiences. The distinctive visual combination of "noir" imagery and Art Deco design was dubbed "Dark Deco" by the producers. In addition, Radomski issued a standing order to the animation department that all backgrounds be painted using light colors on black paper (as opposed to the industry standard of dark colors on white paper). The visual style of the series was based on the artwork of Eric Radomski, and the gothic look of Gotham City was derived from his initial designs. In designing the series, Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski emulated the Burton films' "otherworldly timelessness", incorporating period features such as black-and-white title cards, police airships (although no such thing existed, Timm has stated that he found it to fit the show's style) and a "vintage" color scheme with film noir flourishes. It took influence from Tim Burton's live-action films, Batman and Batman Returns, and the acclaimed Superman theatrical cartoons produced by Fleischer Studios in the early 1940s. ![]() The story was based on the DC Comics superhero Batman, created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger.
